If I have a calling
in this life,
a vocation for which
I was made,
let it be the freedom
of our tiny visitors.
Let me be called to cup
the spiders,
and lift the lizards,
to carry the caterpillars
from the corners of the room
to the bushes and the grass
to the carport crevices.
If I make no great strides toward Freedom
(with a capital âFâ),
let me always take the short steps
to free these friends as best I can.
